After three and half years, my friend and colleague @danisonfire has chosen to leave Softchoice. On a personal level, I’m sad, and me and the team will miss him a lot.

That said, as his manager, I feel like Dan is making the right choice for his career. Our purpose as a company is to unleash the potential of our people. And while it wasn’t an easy decision for him to leave (you can ask him) Dan is continuing his personal journey of growth and development. For that reason, I support his decision.

Manager, External Communications

With deep experience in marketing and PR, exceptional writing and boundless creativity, the Manager of External Communications is responsible for helping scale and amplify the Softchoice brand across North America (and maybe the world….)

This individual works closely with senior level stakeholders and subject matter experts to surface and promote Softchoice’s unique perspectives as an IT thought leader.  

Plus - they get to work closely with me and this guy. 

Database Marketing Supervisor

This is a hands-on role with direct reports (read: ideal first-time people manager opportunity) that requires strong knowledge of database marketing practices and lead generation tools like Eloqua, SalesFusion and CRM platforms like SalesForce.com and Microsoft Dynamics (FYI - we’re a Dynamics shop) to maximize the effectiveness of Softchoice’s marketing activities.

This person is also responsible for scoping and implementing new ideas as well as maintaining existing systems.

Google presents global time-lapse views

Thanks to a new tool released by Google, NASA, the U.S. Geological Survey and Time magazine, the changes made to any location on Earth between 1984 and 2012 can be charted out.

As you can see above, the changes to Los Angeles aren’t all that drastic, but there are plenty crazy changes in other parts of the world:
